What is a Rymnir?

Towards the end of the world of Eldrim's existence, a wise Queen built the biggest library in the world. To maintain it and fill it, she created the role of "Rynmir" or "Gatherers". With her blessing and protection, they went out across the world, recording myths, tales, history, lineages, geography, songs, poems, and everything else that was deemed knowledge. They returned to the Great Library and filed their findings away for the rest of the world to benefit. Through them, much knowledge that would have been lost to the grave, was saved. The first, and most notable of the Rynmir is Eirlys who fought against the Queen in a great battle, but then changed her ways and helped start the library.

Coming Soon: Peace Weaver

As the world burned in 2020, I turned to my own world, which was about six years old at the time. I do not remember the exact order of details, but I had read through Beowulf for the third time and this time I really took notice of the two peace weaving queens in the story. The role of peace weaving, both by passing cups between warriors in the mead hall, but also leaving their father’s hall and marrying into another to tie the bloodlines, was such a fascinating concept for me.
